This year, ASVOFF makes history by introducing the world’s first AI Fashion Film category, bringing AI into the jury, signaling a groundbreaking shift in the film festival landscape. About ASVOFF Film Festival
ASVOFF Film Festival is an annual event founded and directed by Diane Pernet, a Paris-based American-born international fashion blogger and critic, that celebrates fashion films from around the world. Since its debut in 2008, the festival has been a three-day event, featuring the following participants: Alejandro Jodorowsky, Erwin Olaf, Nobuyoshi Araki, Wing Shya, Steven Klein, Chris Cunningham, Chloë Sevigny, Yves Saint Laurent, Nick Knight, Johan Renck, Jerry Schatzberg, William Klein, Tim Yip, Larry Clark, Ellen Von Unwerth, Bruce Weber, Inez van Lamsweerde, Indrani, Rossy de Palma, and many others.
In 2023, a total of 115 fashion films competes for the year’s 16 prizes, spanning from the prestigious grand prize to recognition for promoting Black representation in film and the newly introduced “Climate Warrior” curation, spotlighting the creative expressions of children aged 6 to 12 who are engaged with climate change. In keeping with tradition, the festival’s trophies are masterfully crafted by the talented New York-based artist and designer Miguel Villalobos. Notably, the award for the “Responsible Actions” section will be a unique creation by Paris-based upcycling artist William Amor, with the generous support of the Ateliers de Paris fund for creative professionals.
World´s First AI Fashion Film Celebration
This year, ASVOFF Film Festival, sponsored by France’s Ministry of Culture, is proud to introduce the world’s first AI Fashion Film themed category among other 19 thematic sections, setting the stage for a diverse and engaging lineup of events.
Following this, a thought-provoking discussion will take place, featuring photographers and artistic directors Alexandre Sade and Marguerite Chaillou of MCAS Bureau. They are known for their groundbreaking AI billboard campaign in France, created for the underwear label Undiz.
This year ASVOFF is thrilled to be at the forefront of the innovative movement, to highlight and explore the creative possibilities that arise from the intersection of fashion, film, and AI.

The role of the jury members is to evaluate the best films that involve AI in any capacity, from script to the creation of a character, or edition, or production, from film directors, students, creatives globally.
