Mind that the updates are rolling out in batches based on community feedback, which is really smart. At this point, Midjourney 6.1 celebrates sharper details, richer contrast, and deeper blacks. Small features, like eyes and distant hands, are now rendered with much more accuracy. Plus, the anatomy of humans and animals looks more lifelike.

There are a few things to be aware of though. The new version has some trouble with rendering specific celebrities. For example, getting a good likeness of someone like Vitalik Buterin is a bit hit-or-miss (Midjourney 4 did it the best!). Upscaling can sometimes make details less precise, and the “fast” mode might be slower than you’d expect.
